The recentFortniteblack hole event took the world by storm, even gaining attention from the mainstream media andcelebrities like Lady Gaga. For the uninitiated, theFortniteblack hole event saw the popular battle royale game taken offline for a couple of days as Epic Games prepared to launch a brand new map for Chapter 2. But withFortnitedown for a couple of days, fans of the battle royale game had to do something to pass the time and it seems that many may have found themselves wandering to the dirtier parts of the Internet.
Searches forFortniteon Pornhub were up by 152% during the black hole event. Additionally, searches for the term “black hole” increased by an absurd 9640% during the event as well. As expected, many of these searches came from gamers, with more gamers using the adult entertainment site over the first 24 hours of theFortniteblack hole event than usual. The site had an increase of +10.6% peak on the Sunday night when the event first started.

While many will find his data amusing, it is more evidence of just how insanely popularFortniteis. Even thoughFortniteTwitch viewership has declined, the game is still played by millions of people daily, and it seems as though the launch of the Chapter 2 map has even brought back some lapsed players. If Epic Games is able to maintain this momentum, there’s no reason whyFortnitecan’t reach the heights its hit before, or maybe even surpass its past success.
So far, many fans have responded positively to theFortniteChapter 2 changes, which include a brand new battle royale map, the vaulting of many controversial items, and a number of new gameplay mechanics like swimming and fishing. Whether or not Epic is able to maintain this goodwill or if it will inadvertently upset fans with experimental gameplay mechanics (like the mechs from last season) remains to be seen, but we’ll find out in the coming weeks.
One thing is for certain, though, and that’s Epic has more special events planned forFortnitein the future. If these events take the popular battle royale game offline again, one can count on Pornhub’s traffic to get another spike.
